About this Project
The International Student Gift Fund provides financial support to international students and scholars, including emergency support during times of need so that they can continue their studies successfully. Your donation will help to build this financial safety net for Blue Hens who are thousands of miles from home and need a helping hand due to an unforeseen financial emergency. Recent examples of situations that required emergency assistance are a fire in a local apartment complex and medical emergencies.
Administered by the Center for Global Programs & Services (CGPS) at the University of Delaware, emergency assistance through the International Student Gift Fund is provided to a limited number of international students for up to $1,000 per academic year. Support is generally given as a one-time award and award decisions are made based on the applicant’s individual situation. Many factors are considered in making a decision to approve or deny a request, and amounts awarded are subject to availability of funds per year.
