About this Project
UD music students are dedicated performers whose talents rival the best students at other top-tier music programs. To bring visibility to student success, we seek to equip our students with two high-fidelity mobile recording units so that they can document and share their work with a wide variety of audiences, including community organizations, graduate school committees, summer festival audition panels, as well as at scholarly and educational presentations. We live in a world of sound that is carefully recorded, edited, produced and distributed through a range of social and professional networks. Providing complete high-end audio and video recording equipment will empower students to compete for top positions and prizes, bringing recognition and visibility to the UD School of Music through each success.
Donor Impact: How your support makes a difference!
Mobile recording labs will enable School of Music students to create high quality recordings that will showcase their musical excellence and achievement. These recordings will empower students to gain access to the most prestigious music festivals, workshops, graduate programs and similar opportunities. Providing these students with the tools they need to record and document their achievement is a necessary step toward helping them realize their highest potential. And when UD student musicians attend world-class summer festivals, they return to the School of Music transformed, inspired and excited to share their experiences with their peers, raising the quality and commitment to excellence of every music major. In addition, we are elevating chamber music at UD with the launch of our new Master in Chamber Music. This recording equipment will enable us to share widely the work accomplished by the graduate fellowship students in this program. Help us show the world that Blue Hen musicians are second to none!
