About this Project
The engineering world is one that has been dominated by men for centuries. The lack of representation and support for women in the field has caused many to feel like they don’t belong. Society of Women Engineers (SWE) aims to combat this by providing a space for female-identifying engineering students to feel encouraged and prepared to take on the engineering industry. We host many events throughout the year to develop professional skills and create bonds with other women in our field.
One of SWE's main accomplishments every year is sending attendees to the National Women in Engineering Conference, which is hosted in a major city. At the conference, our members attend workshops led by powerful women in the field and explore the job fair where there are opportunities to speak with representatives from large companies. Our members gain insight into the professional engineering world that they would not receive otherwise. They also are able to bring what they learned back with them and share with other members, increasing the impact of this experience.
Donor Impact: How your support makes a difference!
With your help, we can send Society of Women Engineers members to the 2025 WE conference hosted in New Orleans, Louisiana. Your support will help to make engineering more inclusive at the University of Delaware. Gifts provide general support for the Society of Women Engineers, including conference attendance.
