About this Project
In the fall of 2021, as the Taliban returned to power, women in Afghanistan realized it meant the end of their educational prospects. Making the bold choice to leave and not knowing where they might end up, a brave group of female college students were on one of the last flights out of Kabul. Fifteen of them came to UD’s open arms. Their journey to learn English, understand American culture and pursue a field of study has dramatically changed their lives. Dreams and ambitions firmly in hand, they are undaunted by the challenges they face. You are invited to support their heroic aspirations by making a gift to the Refugee & Displaced Student Fund.
