Delaware Women's Ice Hockey
Support UD's newest varsity athletics program: Women's Ice Hockey.

About this project:

The University of Delaware is excited to begin competition for its newest Division I varsity program, Women's Ice Hockey, which officially becomes the 22nd varsity sport offering July 1, 2025. The University of Delaware has had a strong history of success with its Women's Club Ice Hockey program and looks forward to creating another opportunity at the varsity level.

Since the announcement to add Women's Ice Hockey as a varsity sport, UD hired its inaugural Women's Ice Hockey Head Coach, Allison Coomey. Coomey has laid the groundwork for success, speaking with recruits and building out the team's first roster, hiring Assistant Coach, Melissa Samoskevich, planning ahead for scheduling of both practices and games and plotting out the logistics needed from an equipment and facilities standpoint to have a great first season in the College Hockey America conference.

How your support makes a difference!

Your gift to Women's Ice Hockey will help cover the costs of starting off this program. The current emphasis is on ensuring high quality equipment, apparel and facility improvements to get the program up and running come July 1.
