Disaster Science and Management
Science communication for the next generation of disaster and crisis leaders!

About this Project

Disaster Science and Management is training the next generation of disaster and crisis management experts. Alumni are leaders in government, academia and non-profit organizations across the nation and the globe. Their work shapes COVID pandemic policies, wildfire responses, evacuation plans and a host of efforts designed to keep communities safe. The University of Delaware has world-class disaster research to support these efforts, but pursuing a career in disaster science takes more than innovative research.

This program's important work would not be possible without our graduate students and their ability to travel to professional development experiences, which is where we are asking for your support.

How your support makes a difference!

Your gift supports science communication and professional development experiences for graduate students in Disaster Science and Management. Students will join professional organizations, present to practitioners and train in science communication, developing the networks and communication skills they need to translate their work into tangible results. Together we can build a new generation of disaster experts!

Gifts will be designated to the Student Travel Support fund in the Biden School.
