About this Project
The Student Career Advancement Fund strives to help expand programs and resources to prepare students for professional success. By making a gift, you can directly support student opportunities through the areas below.
Unpaid Internship Participation Grants support students pursuing critical, yet unpaid, internships and professional experiences with funding that offsets financial barriers such as lost wages, travel costs and living expenses. By eliminating these challenges, students will have the opportunity to gain critical work experience, develop new skills, better understand career paths and increase their employability by graduation.
Career-Related Conference, Job Shadow and Networking Opportunity Grants help students develop professional connections and secure employment by contributing to cover expenses for professional conferences, interviews, networking events, job shadowing experiences, music competitions and more.
Faculty-Staff Career Innovation Grants expand career readiness programming by supporting grants for UD faculty and staff who create professional development and networking activities for their students. Funding is provided to offset costs associated with infusing career-related experiences into curricular, academic department, Division of Student Life and UD Athletics initiatives. Past grant awardees have used funds for large group trips to visit employers or attend professional conferences, and to host networking events, career preparation seminars and career fairs.
How your support makes a difference!
Your gift will help students develop professional connections and secure employment by offsetting financial barriers such as lost wages, travel costs and living expenses that are often incurred during unpaid/underpaid internship experiences. Your support will help provide access and opportunities for students to gain critical work experience, develop new skills, better understand career paths and increase their employability by graduation. And your generosity will lend to a wide-range of opportunities for committed UD faculty and staff to create professional development and networking activities for their students, by offsetting costs associated with infusing career-related experiences into curricular, academic, Division of Student Life and UD Athletics initiatives.
