Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES)
Help biomedical engineering students build their professional network and prepare for their careers.

About this project:

The UD Student Chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) offers a broad spectrum of activities, including mentoring and peer advisement, participation in the annual Mid-Atlantic BMES Undergraduate Research Day, professional development and social activities. By engaging students with these activities and other academic resources, we are able to help those interested in biomedical engineering build their professional network and prepare them for success in their chosen career path.

This project will support student travel to workshops, with a particular focus on communications training for researchers. Developing the ability to translate complex research into clear, accessible explanations for the general public will not only enhance outreach efforts but also strengthen the communication skills essential for increased employment opportunities.

How your support makes a difference!

Your support directly impacts BMES students by providing access to invaluable professional development opportunities. By funding student travel to workshops—especially those focused on communication training—you help researchers translate their work into clear, compelling messages for broader audiences. These skills are crucial for career advancement, increasing employability and fostering innovation through effective collaboration. With your gift, we can equip the next generation of biomedical engineers with the tools they need to succeed in both research and industry. Thank you for making a difference!

Gifts may also be used as general support for the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES).
