Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies
Connect the art and science of fashion by embedding technology throughout UD's curriculum.

About this project:

Fashion is the intersection of art and science. The apparel industry is global and impacts every person on our planet. Changes in the fashion industry happen rapidly and are the focus of political, cultural, scientific and industry groups.  At the center of discussions surrounding these changes is technology.

The Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies’ overarching goal for our students is to embed technology in as many ways and in as many classes as possible. While there is no way to outpace the changes, it is critical for all our students to have hands-on experience with technology interfaces such as data analytics, product development software, fashion rendering and textile science technology as well new equipment used in product creation. With costs continuing to increase in accessing technology, we hope to raise awareness and funds to purchase technology in all forms to benefit our students.

How your support makes a difference!

Your gift will enable us to offer more types of technology with broader access to our students. Licenses for CLO software, access to databases, state of the art textile lab equipment, industrial machines and future technologies are just a few ways we can offer more enriching experiences for our FMM and FDPI students. Your support will ensure FASH Blue Hens are ready to take on the challenges of the fashion industry with a fully equipped toolbox of technology!

Gifts may also provide general support for the Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies.
