Center for Material Culture Studies (CMCS)
Support an undergraduate research community studying objects and their cultural importance.

About this Project

What do a 1920s chemise, an unmarked tombstone in a New York cemetery, and your favorite piece of clothing have in common? The Interdisciplinary Material Culture Research Cohort (IMCRC) in the Center for Material Culture Studies (CMCS) offers undergraduate students the space to find out! Help us support fascinating material culture research projects by students with the careful guidance of faculty within a nurturing peer environment.

How your support makes a difference!

Your donation will help IMCRC students study material culture over the summer. They will meet individually with their mentors to advance their projects. Once a month, the cohort will discuss their progress and explore material culture studies theory and methods. The program will culminate in a panel presentation at the Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Gifts may also be used as general support for the Center for Material Culture Studies.
