Delaware Sea Grant: Internship Support
Support an undergraduate, highly technical internship at the UD shellfish hatchery in Lewes, DE.

About this Project

Love oysters? How about locally sourced seafood? UD’s pilot shellfish hatchery produces oyster “seed” for Delaware’s very own aquaculture farms. With each year in production, our operation continues to expand. Donations for this project will go toward wages for a student technician, not only providing a necessary set of hands for us to grow oysters but also providing valuable hands-on experience to an aspiring aquaculturist.

How your support makes a difference!

Your donation will directly support career development for a student who aspires to get involved in aquaculture. Our small-but-mighty shellfish hatchery helps support our local seafood industry, and the more hands we get involved, the more water-quality improving oysters we put in the water. Your contribution will not only aid our mission in getting oysters to our local farmers, but will support a greater effort of improving our waterways and expanding a sustainable seafood industry right here in Delaware.

Gifts may also be used as general support for Delaware Sea Grant initiatives.
