About This Project
Ballroom dance is a hobby that has lost a lot of popularity in recent years, and our club would like to bring it back! We are open to students of all majors and backgrounds, regardless of prior dance experience. Dance is a fun way to exercise and socialize, both of which a lot of students struggle to get enough of. We hold meetings twice a week where we educate new students on all 19 dances we compete in! As our club continues to grow, we hope to collaborate with other groups in the future to further our club's reach both at UD and beyond! Recently, we have begun traveling to local collegiate competitions where we can showcase what we have learned, meet other clubs, bond as a team and receive crucial feedback from the judges.

Your gift enables Ballroom Dancing Club members to pursue a hobby where we can destress amidst our busy college lives. Dancing is an excellent way to socialize, make new friends and exercise, all while having fun! In addition to paying for team lessons and funding on-campus events like masquerade balls, your donations will also go towards the most expensive aspect of our club: competitions. Many members regard competing as their favorite part of the club, yet it is the most financially taxing. Every competition involves registration fees, travel expenses and hotel costs, in addition to occasionally purchasing costumes, makeup and hair supplies. Our members would be very grateful for any and all donations that will allow us to continue participating in the club and competitions that we love!
