About This Project
The Winterthur Program Thesis Support Challenge builds support for graduate students and their timely and innovative thesis research projects that recover, explore and better understand our American cultural heritage. Their projects are interdisciplinary and diverse, addressing the relationship between people and their things, from early American ceramics to 20th century glassware, to metals and furniture, to paintings and postcards. Because most thesis projects require expenses that are not supported by traditional funding sources, your gift will help students enhance, complete and ultimately publicize their projects. Thank you for contributing to the success of the Winterthur Program as we enter our 75th Anniversary!
How your support makes a difference!
Your gift will provide funding for annual awards to graduate students in the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture (WPAMC), who go on to become leaders in cultural heritage worldwide. In person, hands-on research in collections is central to their thesis research. Your support can help cover the cost of travel, equipment and associated expenses.
All contributions will be allocated to the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture (WPAMC) discretionary fund which is dedicated to support student thesis research.
