About This Project
The Townsend East Lawn and Garden will create a welcoming entry to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and establish an intentional connection between the landscape collections of the UD Botanic Gardens. Designed as both an inviting hub and extension of the classroom, this garden will feature accessible amenities and thoughtfully designed plantings that serve as teaching tools and visually compelling displays, complemented by features that model supportive practices for wildlife and ecology. Together, these elements will enrich experiential learning, provide faculty with a dynamic teaching environment and ensure every visitor can meaningfully engage with the Gardens and our campus resources.
Donor support brings this vision to life, inviting curiosity, strengthening community and demonstrating the role of plants in shaping healthier environments.
Each gift is a meaningful contribution and will be recognized. Opportunities for physical recognition are available in limited quantities for donors contributing $2,500 or more to the Townsend East Lawn and Garden project. Donors who make gifts above this level will be contacted to explore recognition options. For more information, please contact the UD Botanic Gardens Director Lauren Kope at lckope@udel.edu.
