Bolster access to student research by supporting experiential learning opportunities.

About This Project

Experiential learning connects classroom theory to real-world practice. These transformational opportunities help students analyze, reflect and make decisions, while acquiring knowledge, skills and values from real-life experience. As the Department of Political Science and International Relations continues to cultivate global citizens with expertise and practical skills, experiential learning is no longer a luxury but rather a necessity. Experiential learning can take the form of an internship, a community service opportunity, a study abroad trip, a special research project and much more.

However, for many students, access to experiential learning is simply out of reach. Many of these positions are unpaid, and thus many students need to decline these opportunities to take paid jobs outside their field of study. Funds raised help ensure that no student is denied the chance to participate in experiential learning because they cannot afford it.

How your support makes a difference!

Your gift will open doors for students who are eager to turn classroom learning into real-world experience but face financial barriers. It helps make internships, research, community engagement and study abroad opportunities accessible to all. Your support ensures students don’t have to choose between gaining valuable experience and earning a paycheck. Because of you, more students can grow, gain confidence and graduate prepared to make a meaningful impact.

Gifts will be directed to the Department of Political Science and International Relations. The Department will direct funds in support of experiential learning opportunities.
