About This Project
University of Delaware Cross Country & Track and Field (UDXCTF) had a successful fall, with multiple athletes contributing to the team's success during the cross country competition season. Marie-Theres Gruber was named to the 2025 Mid-Atlantic All-region team during cross country season, the first all-region athlete since 2021. There were multiple records set over the course of the season, including personal bests from Marie-Theres Gruber, Leah Clear, and Erin McGoey and a program record for team average in a 6k.
The Delaware Women's Track & Field season also started strong. Throws athlete Olamide Ayeni and distance runner Marie-Theres Gruber earned podium finishes as the University of Delaware track & field team competed at the Conference USA Indoor Championships in February. Marie-Theres Gruber also set a program record in the 5000 meters indoors, while Lauren Leath opened the season with a new program record in the 600 meters of 1:32:46.
How your support makes a difference!
This year, donor support allowed the team funding for air travel for some competitive meets to prepare for championship season, which provided an excellent opportunity for our student-athletes to compete against top talent from all around the country.
We are incredibly grateful for the strong base of support from our Blue Hen Family. Thank you for being a part of our journey. Go Hens!
