About This Project
Delaware Ice Hockey made its debut as the University of Delaware's 22nd varsity program this season. The program fought hard and learned many lessons along the way that will make it stronger for years to come. Some highlights of their debut season include: the program's first win against Holy Cross in October, freshman Billi Roman being awarded the Student Leadership Award at the annual New Castle County Chamber of Commerce Women's Leadership Conference, and graduate student Kaitlin Finnegan's selection as the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Individual Sportsmanship Award recipient for the 2025-26 season. We look forward to a bright future for our newest varsity program.
How your support makes a difference!
Your support allows us to provide an exceptional student-athlete experience for our ice hockey student-athletes, funding essential needs such as equipment, apparel, travel, and lodging, as well as key resources like sports performance, performance nutrition, and academic and career readiness programming. The program hopes to purchase heart rate monitors for each student-athlete on the team to wear during practices and games to better track their training and recovery throughout the season.
Please consider making a gift to Delaware Ice Hockey at one of these suggested amounts:
$1,000: gifts made at this level or higher will receive a locker plaque in the Women's Ice Hockey locker room, recognizing the donor's name
$344: in honor of the team's 3.44 Fall GPA
$187: to cover the cost of one heart rate monitor, which the program hopes to purchase for each of the 24 student-athletes of the team to better track training and recovery
$141 in honor of Lexie Lonask who led the nation with 141 blocks this season
