About this project:
Independent studies and research experiences are critical for students in the Earth Sciences as they provide hands-on learning, foster critical thinking and develop field and lab skills essential for scientific careers. These opportunities allow students to explore real-world problems, apply classroom knowledge and prepare for graduate studies or jobs in geoscience-related fields. Support for travel and supplies increases the number and quality of these experiences the Department is able to provide for UD students.
How your support makes a difference!
Your gift will directly enhance student experiences by funding opportunities that go beyond the classroom—such as fieldwork, lab research and self-directed projects. Their support enables students to explore real-world Earth Science challenges, gain practical skills and build confidence as emerging scientists. This hands-on learning can shape career paths, inspire innovation and create lasting academic and professional growth.
Gifts may also be used as general support for the Department of Earth Sciences.
