About this project:
At the University of Delaware School of Music, students push the boundaries of artistry and scholarship. From presenting original research at national conferences to performing on international stages, our students represent UD with excellence, passion and innovation. These transformative opportunities—including recent student contributions to the American Choral Directors Association, Madeline Island Chamber Music Festival, Saint Paul String Quartet Competition and Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition—expand students’ artistry, professional networks and confidence as musicians.
Yet, many of these opportunities carry significant costs: travel, registration fees, lodging and equipment. Through this Giving Tuesday project, Elevate the Stage, you can ensure that financial barriers never stand in the way of excellence. Your support helps our students conduct meaningful research, perform in world-class venues and bring their artistry—and the University of Delaware’s spirit—to audiences around the world.
How your support makes a difference!
Every gift fuels discovery, performance and growth. We welcome gifts that fund student’s festival registration ($75) and support travel to national conferences and competitions ($250). Larger gifts help our student chamber and large ensembles compete and present their research before international audiences.
Because of donor generosity, UD Music students have already achieved remarkable things:
- Performed with distinction at major conferences like the American Choral Directors Association and International Women’s Brass Conference.
- Represented UD internationally at chamber music festivals and choral competitions from Burlington to Bavaria.
- Advanced research and creativity, from exploring Mexican folk traditions to premiering new works by living composers.
