Sociology and Criminal Justice: Equal Justice Fund
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice supports research by students at the undergraduate level via the Undergraduate Equal Justice Fund, which was instituted in 2019. Engaging in research is a high-impact educational practice. Studies show that there are multiple benefits to conducting research as an undergraduate. Benefits include:
- Exploring career directions
- Building transferable skills and enhancing resumes
- Learning to publicly advocate for and defend work
- Getting a leg up on graduate or professional school
- Contributing knowledge and impacting the world

THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT
Your gift to the Undergraduate Equal Justice Fund helps reduce financial barriers, allowing students to focus on their academic and professional goals rather than financial concerns. With this support, students can pursue research, apply to graduate programs and take meaningful steps toward their future with confidence. These opportunities not only strengthen their academic and career paths but also empower them to contribute knowledge and make a positive impact in their communities.
