Peter M. Weil Anthropology Travel Award
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Help UD Anthropology students go from undergraduate researchers to life-long career goals! UD Anthropology students move out into careers across the world, into academic, government work, non-profits and the public sector, performing a range of jobs that support our understanding of people and their cultures, support people’s needs and work to make the world a better place. Here at UD they begin their paths working on independent research, exploring questions across anthropological subfields. This work is critical to their futures and success as scholars and practitioners, helping them develop methods, tools, communications and networks with other students, anthropologists and an array of interdisciplinary researchers and practitioners. Being able to advance their work by sharing it and networking in non-classroom spaces is an essential next step in this work to help them grow and to start their careers.
THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT
Your gift to the Peter M. Weil Anthropology Travel Award will support UD Anthropology students in the first steps in their careers, helping them to attend regional and national anthropology conferences and share their own research with experts in the field. You will support students looking to network with experts, scholars and practitioners beyond UD, to meet with and learn from potential graduate programs and employers and to share their own work with them. This support facilitates a climate of undergraduate student scholarship on campus, all to the benefit of our students and broader community, forming a critical space for young students asking questions about the world and their place in it to blossom into career-long scholars and practitioners making a difference at UD and beyond.
