Preventing Gender-Based Violence in Delaware
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The Center for the Study and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence, housed in the Department of Women & Gender Studies, is an interdisciplinary, feminist and intersectional community of scholars and practitioners that connects research, education and community engagement. The Center conducts and supports research on gender-based violence and works with community partners to translate that scholarship into evidence-based prevention and intervention strategies that inform policy and practice in Delaware and beyond.
The Center is dedicated to understanding, preventing and responding to domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, human trafficking and other forms of gender-based violence while supporting work that improves the lives of survivors. One of its distinctive commitments is workforce development as a prevention strategy. Through research-informed training and experiential learning, the Center prepares students and professionals to work effectively in courts, victim-services agencies, advocacy organizations, policy settings and other community-based environments across Delaware.
THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT
Your gift helps turn research and learning into action. Your support will provide professional-development opportunities for undergraduate and graduate research assistants, interns and externs committed to the study and prevention of gender-based violence, while also strengthening faculty and student research on the prevalence, patterns, causes and consequences of gender-based violence.
