CGPS: International Student Emergencies
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The International Student Gift Fund helps provide financial support to international students on F and J visas during unforeseen emergencies so that they can continue their studies successfully at UD. This project will help to build this financial safety net for international Blue Hens who are thousands of miles from home and are in need of a helping hand due to an unforeseen financial emergency. Recent examples of unforeseen circumstances include medical emergencies, international travel due to a death in the family and a fire at a local apartment complex resulting in students being displaced.
Administered by the Center for Global Programs & Services (CGPS) at the University of Delaware, the International Student Gift Fund is provided to a limited number of international students for up to $1,000. There are many factors considered when making a decision to approve or deny an application and the amounts disbursed are subject to the availability of funds per year.
THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT
Your gift will ensure that the International Student Gift Fund can support more students in crisis throughout the year. Your contribution directly impacts the success of international Blue Hens by helping alleviate some of the financial burden caused by unforeseen emergencies.
Gifts may also be used as general support for international students.
