ABOUT THIS PROJECT

At UD, approximately 1 in 4 students has experienced food insecurity in the last 30 days. The Blue Hen Food and Supply Pantry helps address this need on our campus. Since the program launched in 2023, we've served over 400 Blue Hens through more than 1,000 orders. 

Every student, regardless of their financial status or living situation, should have access to the food and supplies they need to be well. Without it, basic needs insecurity can severely impact a student's ability to succeed. By donating to this initiative, you are directly contributing to the success of Blue Hens by ensuring their most basic needs are met!

THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT 

Your gift supports the purchase of food and supplies that are distributed directly to students and helps us expand UD's broader "Blue Hen Essentials" program. "Essentials" includes the Food and Supply Pantry, the Clothing Coop, housing support and assistance in financial crisis. 

Gifts like yours also help strengthen the overall program structure by providing resources like ordering software and funding for Blue Hen Essentials internships. Together, you're helping us meet students’ immediate needs while building a strong UD support system for Blue Hens.
