Waterfowl and Upland Gamebird Center

This HensGiving, be part of our story.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The University of Delaware Waterfowl and Upland Gamebird Center is the Atlantic Flyway’s only university center dedicated specifically to the science and stewardship of huntable waterfowl and upland gamebirds. Our students and scientists work with state and federal agencies and conservation organizations to conduct applied research that informs habitat restoration, population and harvest management, and conservation investments across the Atlantic Flyway. By supporting the Center, you help advance science for species such as American black ducks, wood ducks, Atlantic brant, Canada geese, northern bobwhite and green-winged teal while helping train the next generation of wildlife conservation professionals.

THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT

Your gift provides flexible, immediate support for student research and conservation science at the Waterfowl and Upland Gamebird Center, helping to put better data in the hands of students, scientists and wildlife managers working to conserve waterfowl and their habitats. For example, graduate student Christine Albrecht is studying how American black ducks use freshwater wetlands across the Mid-Atlantic to improve tools used by conservation partners to identify and protect important wintering habitat; your support can help purchase remote wildlife cameras and the cellular service needed to transmit thousands of field images directly to our research team, so Christine can continue her work.
