ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Puppy Raisers of UD (PRoUD) is an organization that partners with The Seeing Eye to support its mission of enhancing the independence, dignity and self-confidence of people who are blind through the use of Seeing Eye dogs.

Our club members expose young dogs to a variety of environments and experiences to prepare them for their future roles as guide dogs. As part of this training, our puppies accompany us to many everyday activities, including classes, club meetings and events. Our club also has designated, approved housing areas where our puppies live with us. Raising a puppy is a significant time commitment, as our members are responsible for providing complete care, basic obedience training and teaching proper manners.
