Delaware Women’s Soccer
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Delaware Women’s Soccer had another great season under fourth-year head coach Kelly Lawrence. They started conference play in dominant fashion, including a 5-1 road win over Kennesaw State, and had a strong showing at the Conference USA Championship Tournament on home soil at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium. CUSA recognized many standout performances throughout the season, including Maggie Groh, Cassandra Saldarini, Adiat Olaogun-Dickson, and Taisiya Reid all being named Offensive Player of the Week at various points throughout the season.
THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT
Your support of Delaware Women’s Soccer ensures our women’s soccer student-athletes have the resources they need to have an exceptional student-athlete experience and to achieve success in the classroom, on the field and in the community. Donations support nutrition services, sports medicine needs, equipment, leadership development, career readiness programming and more for these student-athletes.
Donor support helps fund the Catapult GPS vests athletes wear in practice and games that track how far, how fast and how hard they run. Our sports science staff uses it to manage each athlete’s workload so they’re fresh on game day. In a game this season, it helped the staff decide to substitute a tired player and the player who came in assisted on the game-winning goal.
Funding also supported the creation of an in house web app that logs every goal we score and allow, maps where on the field it came from, and tracks substitution patterns and season trends. It also includes scouting reports on upcoming opponents. This has been tremendously helpful in learning and improving from past performances throughout the season.
