ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Delaware Baseball is excited to enter its second year in Conference USA. The program finished the Spring semester with a 3.20 average team GPA and named two to the CSC Academic All-District team. This season, a number of experienced returners will see action again, including Catcher / Infielder Anthony DeCesare, a 2026 CUSA All-Freshman Team selection, along with a talented group of newcomers. The Blue Hens welcomed Tyler Leach back to the team this summer; the 2023 and 2024 starting catcher now joins the program as assistant coach. Delaware Baseball looks forward to the season ahead! Your support of Delaware Baseball ensures our baseball student-athletes have the resources they need to have an exceptional student-athlete experience and to achieve success in the classroom, on the field and in the community. Donations support nutrition services, sports medicine needs, equipment, leadership development, career readiness programming and more for our baseball student-athletes.

Donor support allowed for the purchase of the Trackman device, a radar and camera system that measures every pitch and every ball put in play. For pitchers, it records how fast the ball is thrown, how much it spins and how much it moves. Coaches use that to build each pitcher’s pitch mix and track their development. For hitters, it measures how hard and at what angle the ball comes off the bat, so they get objective feedback on every swing instead of relying only on where the ball landed. Funding continues to support software costs for both this device and a portable version called the Rapsodo, which is used for instant feedback during practices.
